Natural Selections is the City of Boulder’s ongoing series of educational nature programs on topics including ecology, wildlife, local history, night hikes, children’s programs, plus many more. These programs happen year around and are free and open to the public.

Free Drop-in Nature Play Programs June - Aug. 2015

FREE NATURE PLAY DROP-IN PROGRAMS

The last of the free nature play programs is happening August 31 and September 3, 2015. It’s not too late to get in on the fun! The City of Boulder is offering free nature play programs designed to connect children 3 to 12 to nature, outdoor play and learning. The City of Boulder provides the fun, you provide the supervision. Nature explorers need to be prepared for any type of weather. Simply drop-in, sign-up and have fun.

All programs are on Mondays and Thursdays.

  • Ages 3 to 7: 9 to 11 a.m.
  • Ages 8 to 12: 1 to 3 p.m.

Location

Meet at the Civic Area International Peace Garden located between the Boulder Main Library parking lot on Arapahoe Ave. and Boulder Creek.

earthCalling all families to come celebration Earth Day! Join Growing Gardens right here in Boulder to celebrate Earth Day, today! Gather at the Children’s Peace Garden to join in a fun, interactive celebration intended to connect children and families to fresh food, local honeybees and healthy bodies. That’s a lot to accomplish, but leave it to the Growing Gardens people to make it happen. This event is free. Children’s Peace Garden is located at 1630 Hawthorn, Boulder.

Does This Beautiful Weather Make You Want To Take A Hike? Head to Mt. Sanitas

The other alternative is an out and back. It is friendly for serious hikers and those who want to take a more leisurely stroll. This amazing hike starts from West Mapleton Avenue.
