Calling all fairies, creatures and children to the annual Tulip Fairy and Elf Festival on Pearl Street. Don’t miss the Tulip Fairy & Elf Parade!  Leaving from the performance stage in front of the Courthouse, all fairies and elves are invited to join the Tulip Fairy as she lead a parade around the Mall to celebrate the tulips and spring. April 7, 2019 from 1 to 5pm.

1:00 – 1:45 pm    Alice in Wonderland – Boulder Performing Arts 
2:00 – 3:00 pm    The Music of Rock N’ Roll For Kids – The Rock and Roll Playhouse

Winter Skate returns to its Boulder roots! This is fun old fashioned outdoor ice skating at its best! Winter Skate first started on the plaza next to the Dushanbe Teahouse and now it’s back. Family-Friendly Halloween Activities Around Boulder

Tons of Halloween events around Boulder for the whole family!

Halloween Carnival: Oct. 27

The annual Halloween Carnival is a community wide, family-friendly event held at the South Boulder Recreation Center on Oct. 27 from 3 to 5 p.m.  All ages are welcome at the event, but the carnival is intended for visitors ages 3 to 8. Children under 3 are free, as are adults.  All other children are $5 each, which includes all the activities at the Halloween Carnival, including crafts, face painting, carnival games and more.

 

Boulder Library Events: Oct. 27 to 29

Costume Hack-a-thon 
Friday, Oct. 27, from 1-5 p.m., at Main Library’s BLDG 61 Makerspace. Join us to work on your Halloween costumes! Access to sewing machines, laser cutters, vinyl cutter, craft supplies, glue guns, soldering equipment, and more. Bring supplies your own supplies! Open to ages 8-plus, attendees under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. Please register!

Enjoy some of the most refreshing water we have in town along Boulder Creek! We are so lucky in Boulder to have the Boulder Creek running right through town. Hit some of the hot spots to go tubing, wading, swimming, kayaking, or just sit next to the water to enjoy the sights and sounds. To get the best access to Boulder Creek try starting at Eben G. Fine Park at the west end of Arapahoe Ave. You can park at the Boulder Public Library [you do have to pay here] where you can walk right over to a beautiful shady spot near the creek, or find it anywhere along the Boulder Bike Path.

Boulder’s Sledding Hills

Loving that snow? Maybe today is a great day to go sledding. There are some great sledding hills in Boulder! Check out these locations for some of the best sledding around:

Scott Carpenter Park: This is a mellow, fun slope for the kids, but adults enjoy it too!

Tantra Park [Just South of 46th and Hanover]: This sledding hill can get incredibly packed and at places it is steep.

Foothills Community Park: There are some great, low angle slopes here for kids and adults.
