Bike To Work! Boulder’s Walk & Bike Month began as a single day of bicycling events in 1977 and has grown to a month-long celebration. Today, Boulder’s Walk and Bike Month is among the largest events of its kind in the nation. Today just happens to be Bike to Work Day, so jump on your bike and join the crowd!

Bike to Work Day on June 27 is the main event, with almost 50 breakfast stations around Boulder serving free food and drink to the estimated 7,000 participants riding or walking to work.

4th of July Celebrations Around Boulder!

Boulder Concert Band on the Green: First, check out Chautauqua in the morning to celebrate their 120th Anniversary with Boulder Concert Band on the Green at 10 am.

4th on Pearl: Next, head back downtown in time for lunch and 4th on Pearl from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with music starting at 1:00 pm (see below for schedule).  There will be activities and an extended beer garden on the 1300 Block of Pearl Street and the Boulder County Courthouse Lawn.

Ralphie’s Independence Day: Lastly, Hazel Miller wraps up just in time to catch Ralphie’s Independence Day Blast at Folsom Field.

Are You Up For The Triple Peak Challenge? It’s On!

Celebrate spring with the Open Space and Mountain Parks [OSMP] Rangers as you summit Bear Peak, South Boulder Peak and Green Mountain all in one day. We will stop occasionally to learn about fire ecology, botany, and wildlife. This is a very strenuous, all-day hike with 2500 feet of elevation gain over 10 miles. Hikers should be prepared with enough food and water to be out 7-10 hours.  If you feel up to this grueling challenge, meet at the Green Mountain West Ridge trailhead (address 5089 Flagstaff Rd.). THIS HIKE STARTS AND ENDS AT DIFFERENT TRAILHEADS, and transportation is not provided. We will end at the South Mesa trailhead, and we suggest coordinating with another person to shuttle back to your vehicle at Green Mountain West Ridge. Weather is variable this time of year, so please be prepared.

The Triple Peak Challenge Details:
Date: Sun. May 20, 2018

Time: 7:30 a.m. – late afternoon

Recommended items to bring:

  • Food – lunch and snacks
  • Water – at least two liters
  • Sunscreen
  • Hat
  • Gear for inclement weather

Now in its 41st year, Boulder’s Walk & Bike Month began as a single day of bicycling events in 1977 and has grown to a month-long celebration. Today, Boulder’s Walk and Bike Month is among the largest events of its kind in the nation.

A celebration of Boulder’s unique and nationally recognized #bicycling and #pedestrian culture, #Walk & #Bike Month includes a diverse list of more than more than 60 free events for adults and children alike, including mountain bike rides, running activities, scavenger hunts, historical walking tours, hikes and much more.

The Bolder Boulder is such a Boulder classic on Memorial Day! Thinking about running this iconic 10k? You can do it! You will of course be joined by well over 50,000 other runners. You can walk, jog, run, dance, or saunter. Really you can get to the finish however you like and enjoy non-stop entertainment along the way. Registration closes May 25, 2017 so get registered!
