Boulder has done it again! This time we have made the list of the top places to live in retirement. Forbes has assembled a list of 25 places around the country that are suitable for retirement and offer outstanding opportunities in one or more of the following categories: the arts, fine dining, learning, volunteering, outdoor water pursuits, outdoor land pursuits, and golf.  Cost of living and housing costs are noted, but high expenses, didn’t keep an otherwise top locale off our list.  Our list is alphabetical.

The Art of Origami Unfolds at the Longmont Museum: Catch this installation before it is gone May 1, 2016

The art of origami unfolds at the Longmont Museum and Cultural Center’s exhibit – Above the Fold: New Expressions in Origami. This is the first traveling exhibition of origami installations brought to an American audience. Creations from around the world will be on display at the Longmont Museum & Cultural Center showcasing beautiful paper sculptures now through May 1, 2016.

Origami is derived from the Japanese, ori (folding) + kami (paper), and serves as an art form that has been handed down for generations. The origins of origami are unknown, however the Japanese are credited with its creation.

Boulder Youth Give New Meaning To Recycle In Recycled Runway!

Recycled Runway is a fashion show with a twist. Students in grades 6-12 create and wear original garments from a variety of day-to-day items. All the profits raised at Recycled Runway will aid the Boulder area Blue Sky Ridge – a child and family advocacy center. This is a one of a kind event and supports Boulder youth in so many ways! Recycled Runway is happening on Tuesday, April 12th at the Boulder Theater. $10 General Admission tickets are available online at Boulder Theater.
