Architecture Matters Lecture Series Focuses on Landmarks of the Future Tonight

Screen Shot 2014-04-15 at 1.51.58 PMThe Architecture Matters Lecture Series continues tonight [Wednesday, April 16, 2014] at 6:30 p.m. taking a look at “Landmarks of the Future.” This is a panel discussion of how Boulder’s contemporary architecture might be perceived in the future and which buildings may be landmarks in the coming decades and why. This is a free event at the Main Boulder Public Library Auditorium.

Sponsored by the City of Boulder Historic Preservation Program, Historic Boulder, the Boulder Public Library, the Carnegie Library for Local History, and the Boulder History Museum.

Boulder Flood Survey: How were you impacted?

September 2013 brought unprecedented rainfall to our region, causing significant flooding and extensive damage to both boulder floodsprivate property and public infrastructure. In response to this event, the City of Boulder is reviewing its flood management program and mitigation priorities and they need your help in identifying neighborhoods and areas in Boulder that were severely impacted by the recent flooding. They need residents’ help to understand which areas had the most flood damages. The survey is very short. Take the Boulder Flood Impact Survey!

Curbside Debris Removal Starting Today [9/26]

Hey City of Boulder! Curbside removal of flood debris is starting today.

From Boulder Flood Info: The City of Boulder will begin curbside cleanup of flood debris on Thursday, Sept. 26. The curbside collection service, contracted to Denver-based Swingle Inc., will occur for a period of three weeks. Residents are asked to place flood debris, such as carpet, drywall, appliances, trees and branches on the curbside for collection. Debris piles should not block drainage, sidewalks, bike lanes or fire hydrants.

Swingle has divided the city into four zones for curbside cleanup and will pick up debris in each zone at least twice, starting on Thursday, Sept. 26, and concluding on Friday, Oct. 18.

 

  • Zone 1: North of Iris, West of Foothills Parkway – start day Thursday, Sept. 26.
  • Zone 2: South of Baseline, West of Foothills Parkway – start day Saturday, Sept. 28.
  • Zone 3: South of Iris, North of Baseline, West of Foothills Parkway – start day Tuesday, Oct. 1.
  • Zone 4: East of Foothills Parkway in city limits – start day Thursday, Oct. 3.
