NCAR’s Community Art Program Presents the Work of 2 Photographers

ncarNCAR Community Art Program brings artists’ works to Boulder on a rotating basis. Enjoy the art show, the location, and the hands on exhibits. The exhibit is ongoing. NCAR is free and open to the public daily during business hours [8am to 5pm]. More detailed information here.

Cheryl Carter-Pierce is a photographer who spent three years on the coast of Maine for a photographic project called “First Light”. This series was mostly recorded in the pre-dawn light, rendering deep colors and striking patterns. Carter-Pierce’s work will be on exhibit in Gallery I of the National Center for Atmospheric Research.

Norman Singer’s photography attempts to illustrate the commonality of the human spirit. Singer’s work will be on exhibit in Gallery II of the National Center for Atmospheric Research.

The Bald Mountain Scenic Area which is 5 miles west of Boulder on Sunshine Canyon Drive. Join Boulder County volunteer naturalists for an evening of exploring Bald Mountain under cover of darkness. You will hike about one mile roundtrip on a moderately strenuous trail, enjoying the starlight, listening for night sounds, and learning about some of the nocturnal habits of the critters that live here. Bring water, closed-toe hiking shoes/boots, suitable clothing for the weather, a flashlight, and your night vision. All ages are welcome.  [August 13, 2013 . 8:30pm to 10:00pm]
