Boulder Opera Performs Operamania at the Boulder Public Library this Weekend

Operamania! is a lively performance of opera scenes that introduces children of all ages to the world of opera. This classic appeared for two seasons on PBS and is now brought to Boulder by the Boulder Opera. Get Involved – Boulder’s 12th Annual Community Cleanup Day is May 17, 2014

Screen Shot 2014-05-14 at 2.44.34 PMWant to get involved in cleaning up our community? May 17, 2014 is the day you’ve been waiting for! Help clean up Boulder by removing trash, waste and recyclables, restoring flood damaged underpasses, and pulling weeds from parks, greenways and trails. You pick the location and on-site project leaders will provide direction and supplies!

How to sign up

  1. Choose a location pdf
  2. Submit the online registration form
  3. Print the volunteer waiver pdf, sign it and bring it with you on Community Cleanup Day!

In appreciation for your contribution, you are welcome to join the City of Boulder for a free ice cream social and a free pool day as well as fun activities for Kid’s to Parks Day at Scott Carpenter Park after the cleanup. All cleanup
participants will receive a one-day pass to the Boulder Reservoir and be entered into a prize drawing.
Register online or by phone, 303-413-7245 by Wednesday, May 14. Day of event registration is from
8 to 8:30 a.m. at Scott Carpenter Park.

Get Ready for Summer! – Families Can Jam Out Together At Summer Meadow Music

Meadow Music programs are our most popular (and very fun) education events. Children and parents join OSMP’s Jeff Kagan, Paige Doughty and Mark Wesson for evenings of children’s music and nature education. The evening consists of a short, kid-friendly hike on the McClintock Trail followed by 45 minutes of nature music for kids on the Chautauqua Green, by the Ranger Cottage. Best of kids ages 2-8. Meadow Music is free! Bring a picnic, bring a blanket, rain or shine. All Meadow Music events are held from 5:30 to 7pm. Follow this link for a map to the meeting place.

History Buff? Learn About the Lives of Boulder’s Early African-American Residents at the Boulder History Museum

Learn why a mostly integrated community became increasingly segregated in the 1920s, especially in ‘The Little Rectangle,’ a part of the Goss-Grove neighborhood. Corson will also explain why this unique history of Boulder is at risk of being forgotten. Friday, May 2, 2014 from 12:00 to 1:15pm.
