Dance, dance, dance! Enjoy live music? Head on down to Bands on the Bricks on Pearl Street this summer. These are always fun, free live music shows on Wednesday night starting at 7pm. So make a plan to put on your dancing shoes and head downtown to enjoy the shows.

What do funnel cake, duck races and live music have to do with each other? They are all happening at the annual Boulder Creek Festival this weekend in Downtown Boulder. From May 28 – 30, 2016 you can find food, art, crafts, activities, performances, community organizations, and tons more! It’s a Boulder tradition. It’s fun for the whole family!

Bring The Kids! Meadow Music Is Gearing Up For A Great Summer

Meadow Music is an award winning environmental education program offered for free in Boulder, Colorado. Summer of 2016 marks its 12th anniversary! Join Jeff & Paige for free concerts at Chautauqua. Meadow Music happens most Monday evenings in the summer from June-August.

This event is free to the public thanks to the City of Boulder’s Open Space and Mountain Parks Division!

Meet at 5:30pm to start a short hike that’s friendly to all ages – Map Here.  The hike takes about 30 minutes because of all the little legs that join it, but all ages should be able to accomplish the task. Along the way we’ll look for our color of the week and at the end our hike we’ll sing a song to bring out our animal of the week–Coyote Bob, Ranger Paula, or The Black Bear…

After the hike return to Chautauqua Green for a concert full of Jeff & Paige’s original nature and science-based music. The concert starts around 6:00pm and ends by about 7:00. Bring a blanket to sit on, a picnic and some silliness.

Colorado’s Population Is Seriously On The Rise!

This recent Denver Post article lays it out – our state’s population is seriously on the rise and outgrowing the rate of new housing.

“Colorado’s population rose by almost 102,000 people last year, but the state added only 25,143 new homes, condos and apartments to accommodate those newcomers, according to updated estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The division of those two numbers explains the multiplication of headaches for anyone trying to buy or rent a home along the northern Front Range: The average household size in Colorado is 2.5 people. That means the state should have added 40,500 housing units. Instead, it is running 15,000 homes short of where it should be, adding to a deficit that has been mounting since 2012…”

Join Boulder’s Biggest Spring Clean-up Event – May 21st!

Join Boulder’s biggest spring cleaning event on Saturday, May 21!

This one-day, annual volunteer event rallies hundreds of volunteers across the city. On May 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. participants will help with park beautification, tree plantings, creek cleanups, trail restorations, graffiti removal and more. Times vary depending on the volunteer location. All volunteers will receive one free admission to the Boulder Reservoir.

Following the volunteer project, join us to celebrate National Kids to Parks Day with activities and fun in downtown Boulder’s Civic Area. Please register yourself or your group below by Thursday, May 19. All volunteers will need to fill out a waiver on the day of the event to participate.

It’s splendor and story speak for themselves any time the Boulder Dushanbe Tea House is open. Take a look, drink some tea, or have a full meal. This Downtown Boulder gem is a must see in Boulder!
