Want to ensure a smile today? Head up to Nederland to enjoy an afternoon of exploring the town including taking a ride on the Carousel of Happiness. This carousel has been lovingly created and is housed in the sweet mountain town of Nederland, Colorado. This magical menagerie featuring 56 whimsical, hand-carved animals on a restored 1910 Looff carousel, turns to the music of a 1913 Wurlitzer band organ. Leanin’ Tree Museum of Western Art offers one of the nations largest private collections of western art. There is also a beautiful outdoor sculpture garden. Open 360 days of the year. This is a great one for locals and out of town guests. More information can be found here.
This summer you can experience homesteading. Just above Boulder you will find Walker Ranch, a well preserved slice of history. The Summer Heritage Evening at Walker Ranch offers a glimps into the life of homesteaders in our area. “All Aboard”! Calling all kiddos, enjoy a free ride on Pearl Street Mall’s one-and-only Tebo Train! Children ages 10 and under (and accompanying adults) will chug along the beautiful Pearl Street Mall on the only set of wheels permitted “on the bricks”! The Tebo Train runs Mondays – Thursdays from May 28 – August 29. Board between 10 – 11:15 am in front of Wells Frago Bank at the corner of 12th and Pearl Street. More information here.

It’s hot out there! Want to beat the heat? Enjoy some of the most refreshing water we have in town along Boulder Creek! We are so lucky in Boulder to have the Boulder Creek running right through town. Hit some of the hot spots to go tubing, wading, swimming, kayaking, or just sit next to the water to enjoy the sights and sounds. To get the best access to Boulder Creek try Eben G. Fine Park at the West end of Arapahoe, park at the Boulder Public Library where you can walk right over to a beautiful shady spot near the creek, or find it anywhere along the bike path.
The Boulder Reservoir is one of the great water resources in our area. Enjoy a day at the beach, rent a stand up paddle board, get into a canoe, swim, or do it all! Bring a picnic or enjoy the concession stand. This is a popular destination so you won’t be alone. Bring the whole family! The Reservoir is open daily through the summer. Another great event happening in Downtown Boulder. The Boulder Jewish Festival is happening this Sunday. This is a one-day celebration of Jewish culture, featuring live entertainment, fine art and Judaica, ethnic food, community organizations and activities for all ages.
