Zoo Lights Are On at the Denver Zoo

Zoo Lights are amazing and spans 70 acres of Denver Zoo’s campus, with nightly entertainment, animal encounters, Santa meet-and-greets and, of course, illuminated animal sculptures that swing through trees, jump across lawns hide in bushes and appear in places where they’re least expected. Zoo Lights is a great opportunity for folks of all ages to enjoy the holidays or kick off the New Year with family and friends. Every night, now through January 3, 2016 from 5:30 to 9:00pm.

Snow Much Fun in the Civic Area continues this Saturday night, Dec. 19, with a free showing of Disney’s Frozen.  Don’t let the cold keep you a way.  Join friends at 5 p.m. for pre-movie caroling and a Frozen sing-a-long led by the Rocky Mountain Chorale. Bring your camping chair and blankets and we will bring the free hot chocolate.

In addition to the light display and movie activities on Saturday, Dec.19 from 5 to 8 p.m. Boulder Parks and Recreation will host additional FREE activities including:

Run. Run. Run. Join the Town of Superior’s Stocking Run If You Can!

Join the Town of Superior and Racing Underground on Sunday, December 13th at 9 a.m. for a fun and festive, family-friendly 5K run and walk in Superior.  Your entry fee includes entry into the race, a Stocking Run technical running shirt, fun music, post-race munchies and entry into Racing Underground’s sponsor merchandise drawing.  Entrants will also receive a red felt stocking full of sponsor goodies!  How fun is that!!!

The Superior Stocking Run starts and finishes at Purple Park. Runners will depart the start line on Rock Creek Parkway and enjoy a fast gradual downhill opening mile. The course then follows Eldorado Drive to Pitkin then Heartstrong and back to Indiana before returning to Rock Creek Parkway for the final stretch run to the finish line. Traffic will temporarily shift to one side of Rock Creek Parkway during the race between Pitkin and Indiana. No other streets will be closed. Resident access to all neighborhood streets will be open at all times, with marshals helping guide vehicles and runners and walkers at each intersection. For a map of the race course please CLICK HERE.
