The Boulder Farmer’s Market is in full swing. This is the height of the season and Wednesday nights at the Market are sublime. May we suggest heading downtown, grabbing this week’s veggies and fruits, purchasing some delicious food, grabbing a drink and listening to live music? While you are at it, duck into the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art–it is free when the Market is on. It is certain to be a lovely night! Hours are 4:00 to 8:00pm.

Enjoy a night hike at Bald Mountain. The Bald Mountain Scenic Area which is 5 miles west of Boulder on Sunshine Canyon Drive. Join Boulder County volunteer naturalists for an evening of exploring Bald Mountain under cover of darkness. You will hike about one mile roundtrip on a moderately strenuous trail, enjoying the starlight, listening for night sounds, and learning about some of the nocturnal habits of the critters that live here. Bring water, closed-toe hiking shoes/boots, suitable clothing for the weather, a flashlight, and your night vision. All ages are welcome. [August 13, 2013 . 8:30pm to 10:00pm]
The 6th Annual History Mystery Challenge Is Just Around The Corner. Get Your Team Ready!
The 6th Annual Boulder History Museum’s Adult Scavenger Hunt of Fun, Food and Mystery is right around the corner! This year, History Mystery Challenge: ‘Downtown Beer’ Edition FUNdraiser brings you through Boulder’s bustling downtown for an evening of riddles, great food, refreshing libations, and much merriment! Teams of 2-6 participants will compete to see who can solve the most riddles about Boulder’s Downtown locales.
Plenty of food generously provided by Casa Alvarez and beer by Upslope Brewing Co. will be served before and after the Challenge.

The Boulder Reservoir is an amazing resource for all of us in landlocked Boulder County. You can go to lay on the beach, take a swim, rent a boat or try a stand up paddle board [SUP]. This can be an early morning or early evening event for those who don’t have daytime flexibility. The gates open at 5:30am and close at 9:00pm during the summer hours.
