Ron Buffo, who wrote about the 100th anniversary of the Northern Coal Field War and the Battle at the Hecla Mine for the Winter 2014 Louisville Historian, will discuss the fierce April 1914 battle that strikers and strikebreakers waged at the Hecla Mine in Louisville and will place it in the context of the larger labor war that was taking place at that time. Bring your lunch and enjoy this exciting presentation.

It’s the Final Day of the BoaBoa Festival!

The BaoBao Festival’s mission is to entertain, educate and build community in Colorado through artistic performances inspiredScreen Shot 2014-02-28 at 9.59.09 PM by West African tradition and culture. Over the past ten years BaoBao Festival has brought local, national, and international performers to Colorado for a celebration of Africa’s age-old community theater experience of gathering under the baobab tree.  The Festival is an exciting celebration that weaves together West African singing, storytelling, drumming and dance. March 1, 2014 is the final day of the event.

Boulder History Museum Hosts “The Ditch Project”: A History of Boulder’s Irrigation Ditches

They have combined historic images of Boulder’s ditches and contemporary photographs from the same locations. Thus evolved the exhibit, Boulder County Ditches: Then & Now. Hosted by the Boulder History Museum, the exhibit is open during normal museum hours through April 13, 2014. More information on The Ditch Project here.
