Run. Run. Run. Join the Town of Superior’s Stocking Run If You Can!

Join the Town of Superior and Racing Underground on Sunday, December 13th at 9 a.m. for a fun and festive, family-friendly 5K run and walk in Superior.  Your entry fee includes entry into the race, a Stocking Run technical running shirt, fun music, post-race munchies and entry into Racing Underground’s sponsor merchandise drawing.  Entrants will also receive a red felt stocking full of sponsor goodies!  How fun is that!!!

The Superior Stocking Run starts and finishes at Purple Park. Runners will depart the start line on Rock Creek Parkway and enjoy a fast gradual downhill opening mile. The course then follows Eldorado Drive to Pitkin then Heartstrong and back to Indiana before returning to Rock Creek Parkway for the final stretch run to the finish line. Traffic will temporarily shift to one side of Rock Creek Parkway during the race between Pitkin and Indiana. No other streets will be closed. Resident access to all neighborhood streets will be open at all times, with marshals helping guide vehicles and runners and walkers at each intersection. For a map of the race course please CLICK HERE.

The Annual Lights of December Parade is Tonight in Downtown Boulder

Time for the Lights of December Parade in Downtown Boulder. In its 28th year, spectators will enjoy floats created and decorated by local businesses, churches and civic groups. Crowds will enjoy marching bands, lit fire engines, holiday carolers and much more. The grand finale includes an appearance by the jolly old man himself – Santa Claus!

The City and County of Boulder Are Listening To YOU! Come share your thoughts at the upcoming “listening sessions”!

The City of Boulder and Boulder County have upcoming “listening sessions” to get feedback from the community about the Boulder Valley Comprehensive Plan as well as listen to what is on the mind of Boulder residents. The city and county are hosting six gatherings in November and December with more expected next year. These sessions will have a local focus tailored to each sub-community and are a chance for you to share ideas with staff members and ask questions about matters affecting your neighborhood and part of town.

The next session is focused on Southeast Boulder and happening in the evening on December 2, 2015 at Eisenhower Elementary School. Get more specifics on dates and times of listening sessions in your neighborhood here –

Boulder County Farmer’s Markets Bring Us Their Winter Market

The Boulder County Farmers Market presents their annual two-day Winter Market, Dec. 5 and 6 at the Boulder County Fairgrounds. The market featuring 70 local food growers and producers and 60 Colorado artists. Enjoy the flavors of root vegetables, winter squash, specialty cuts of lamb, beef and pork, fresh eggs, preserved fruits and vegetables, wine, coffee, and delicious baked goods. Grab breakfast or lunch, listen to live music, and browse local art including candles, jewelry, photography, letterpress cards and knitwares.

Get to know Boulder. Get to know Boulder better. I bet you will learn something new if you participate in the Natural Selections hikes/events. Natural Selections is the City of Boulder’s ongoing series of educational nature programs on topics including ecology, wildlife, local history, night hikes, children’s programs, plus many more. These programs happen year around and are free and open to the public.
