Boulder’s Evert Pierson Kids’ Fishing Pond is open after almost two years of work to repair damage caused by the flooding in 2013. This is a super fun way to introduce your kids to fishing. The pond is located along the Boulder Creek Path between 6th and 9th streets. The pond has been restocked so it’s high time to check it out!

Curious About The History of the Boulder Civic Area? Take a Guided Tour and Get The Scoop!

Take a journey through the park’s 27 acres with a park ambassador as your guide. The walking tour will focus mainly on the history and nature of the park with a look at what some future designs are for the Civic Area. Talks will cover a variety of topics  such as flooding, plains history, the settling of Boulder, Sister City Project, the gardens, park fauna, etc.

 

Wednesdays from 1 to 2pm and Sunday 11 to noon through October 2015. Tours are free. All ages welcome. Tour starts at the Duhsanbe Teahouse @ 1770 13th St, Boulder, CO 80302

FREE NATURE PLAY DROP-IN PROGRAMS

The last of the free nature play programs is happening August 31 and September 3, 2015. It’s not too late to get in on the fun! The City of Boulder is offering free nature play programs designed to connect children 3 to 12 to nature, outdoor play and learning. The City of Boulder provides the fun, you provide the supervision. Nature explorers need to be prepared for any type of weather. Simply drop-in, sign-up and have fun.

All programs are on Mondays and Thursdays.

  • Ages 3 to 7: 9 to 11 a.m.
  • Ages 8 to 12: 1 to 3 p.m.

Location

Meet at the Civic Area International Peace Garden located between the Boulder Main Library parking lot on Arapahoe Ave. and Boulder Creek.

Venus de Miles began in Boulder, Colorado in 2008 with all the perks and touches women appreciate in a fundraising bike ride.  Get involved and ride on August 29, 2015.

To date more than 12,000 women have participated in a Venus de Miles event and those numbers continue to grow as women invite their sisters, their daughters, their mothers, and their friends to join them for this unforgettable day of fun and fitness for an exceptional cause. Venus de Miles features courses to accommodate any participant – novice or seasoned.  Choose among a rolling 30-mile course, a 62-mile metric century, and a 100-mile century course.  All courses go through beautiful Boulder County.
