MyPlate for Parents: Moving Beyond the Food Pyramid to Healthy Eating
Let’s learn to eat healthy! Goodbye, Food Guide Pyramid! Hello, MyPlate! The USDA no longer uses the pyramid to encourage healthy eating, instead they have begun using MyPlate. Julie Maxwell, a registered dietician, will talk about using this tool to improve the nutritional quality of family meals. A collection of vintage phonographs are on display at the Louisville Public Library. Tonight the collector will be on site to chat about phonographs and the items he has on exhibit! Louisville’s Royal Ball Father/Daughter Valentine’s Day Dance is just around the corner
The Louisville Royal Ball Valentine’s Day Father/Daughter Dance is happening this year on February 9, 2013. This magical afternoon for fathers and daughters [ages 3 to 8] is held at the Louisville Arts Center (801 Grant St.) from 12:30 to 1:30pm. The event includes a tiara for each young lady, dancing to a live DJ, crafts, light refreshments and many smiles. Formal to semi-formal attire encouraged. Cost: $10/person. Must register here.
