The Boulder Public Library is presenting a cinematic screening of The Third Man this Sunday, February 2, 2014. 
This is what they say about it: “Directed by Carol Reed, featuring Orson Welles, Joseph Cotten, Alida Valli, Trevor Howard (U.K.1949). A writer of juvenile Western pulps arrives in post-WWII occupied Vienna to meet a school-days friend reported killed in a traffic accident who is alleged to be a black marketeer. Astonishing cinematography by Robert Krasker and haunting solo Zither soundtrack by Anton Karas. (104 min.)”

La Sylphide, one of the oldest surviving Romantic ballets, is captured in cinematic glory and here in Boulder’s art house theater. I don’t know about you, but when the days get shorter and colder I start to think about heading to the movies. Just when I am getting antsy to see some great cinema the winter/spring 2013 season of the Boulder Public Library Cinema Program is upon us. This artsy film series runs from January 7th through April 15th on most Monday and Thursday evenings in the Canyon Theater. The Boulder Public Library’s Cinema Programming fills a special niche in the community providing cogent and coherent thematic programming for Boulder’s intelligent and diverse community. Free admission. 6:30pm unless otherwise indicated. All movies are at the Main Library Canyon Theater at 1000 Canyon Blvd., Boulder.
