The West End 4K Is Back. Get Registered Right Away!

The West End 4k, extends the popular 3k event. The course is nearly the same, and it is great for spectators since it is two loops up and down Pearl Street. In addition to the vendors giving away goodies for free, there are plenty of options for food and drink in the West Pearl neighborhood!

Packet pick-up will be available at Flatirons Running Inc (629 S Broadway) from 4-6 pm Wednesday, July 27th and on race day near the start/finish from 5-6 pm.

Tour the Visitor’s Center at NCAR [National Center for Atmospheric Research]

Boulder’s National Center for Atmospheric Research’s visitor center is open for guided and self-guided tours 363 days of the year. This iconic building sits atop a mesa overlooking Boulder. The site is beautiful and offers easy hiking options and the visitor’s center offers visitors interactive learning opportunities. NCAR is open for visitors on weekdays 8:00am to 4:00pm and on weekends 9:00am to 5:00pm. Guided tours are offered M/W/F 12:00 to 1:00pm, but if you would rather a self-guided tour you can take an cell phone MP3 tour anytime. Kids and adults alike enjoy this site!

Boulder is not new to being at the top of the list. This year Livability placed Boulder #5 on it’s Top 100 Best Places To Live list. This is what they said about Boulder:

Boulder Is Building Community One Block Party At A Time!

For your next Boulder block party, consider reserving the neighborhood block party trailer from the City of Boulder.

The trailer is available for any Boulder resident to reserve — though it must be used for a neighborhood party, which means everyone within some geographic area (you define your neighborhood) must be invited. If you reserve the trailer, it is yours for a weekend ­­— city staff will drop it off to the requested location on Friday afternoon and pick it back up on Monday morning. The idea is that you only have to add food, drink and neighbors — everything else is contained within the trailer for you, making a block party easy and fun.

All permitting requirements still apply with use of the trailer. You will need a block party permit if you are planning to close the street. Type III barricades (required for street closure) are included in the trailer, available at no cost to the host.

Depending on where you plan to utilize the trailer, you will need to follow one of these three processes. You must indicate which process, based on place and use, that you will follow, when you reserve the trailer. Reservation of the trailer itself does not initiate these processes for you.

The result is a beautiful outdoor gallery nestled in the heart of Boulder on the one-and-only Pearl Street Mall. July 16 & 17 – 10am daily
