Bands on the Bricks

Downtown Boulder’s infamous Bands on the Bricks continues the 2012 season with an awesome lineup in August:

August 1                       That Eighties Band

August 8                       Chris Daniels & The Kings

August 15                     The Nacho Men

The outdoor beer/wine/margarita garden starting at 5:30 p.m. with bands playing from 7-9pm on the 1300 block of Pearl. From oldies to alternative and everything in between Bands on the Bricks is Boulder County’s premiere outdoor summer concert series taking place in the heart of the city on the bricks of the one-and-only Pearl Street Mall.  A not-to-be-missed summer tradition with 10 weeks of free concerts. Enjoy performances from the best local musicians along the front range while dancing under the stars.

Art Night Out in Lafayette!

The City of Lafayette continues their 2012 Art Night Out series. Art Night Out runs from 4 to 9 pm on the third Friday of the month throughout the summer in Downtown Lafayette.  Each Night Out features artists, an art walk, children’s activities (including a balloon twister, magician and face painters), the Oskar Blues Bonewagon food truck and a beer garden.

Bands will play at Festival Plaza in Old Town Lafayatte from 7:30 to 9 pm.  Here’s the lineup:

$1 Kids Movies!

Moviegoers of all ages can climb aboard the Summer Movie Express to enjoy a great selection of films. During the remainder of this 9-week festival, the Colony Square Stadium 12 movie theater in Louisville is offering G or PG rated movies for only a dollar on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at 10am.

Festival Flicks Premier

Wow – the outdoor movie scene in Boulder County is growing! Lafayette joins in with Festival Flicks Outdoor Cinema (sponsored by Eats and Sweets) in conjunction with LCAC and Project Yes!  Movies will be shown on a 2 story screen at Festival Plaza on Saturday July 14 and August 4, 2012, 8:30pm.  Bring some popcorn and something comfy to sit on!

Kids Bike Parade on July 4

Bring the kiddos on down to the Municipal Building, on Canyon West of Broadway at 10am on July 4th for a fun filled morning of decorating bikes and then parading and racing.  Presented by Parenting Place, Chip, the CU mascot will lead the parade and there will also be a firetruck and food vendors.  Come on down tomorrow!

Free Train Rides for Kids!

All Aboard!  Calling all kiddos, enjoy a free ride on Pearl Street Mall’s one-and-only Tebo Train! Children ages 10 and under (and accompanying adults) will chug along the beautiful Pearl Street Mall on the only set of wheels permitted “on the bricks”!

Board at the Pearl St. Mall at the 1200 block and continues down to the 1400 block. Admission is FREE!

The Tebo Train runs Monday – Thursday from 10:00 – 11:20 am now – August 30th.
