Valmont Dog Park is celebrating the re-opening and the Bike Park is celebrating a new shelter on Oct. 20 from 10-11am.
Join in for a ribbon cutting, light refreshments, a costume contest for the dogs, and a recreation center pass raffle. Meet under the shelter near the east parking lot.
October 27 and 28, 2012, the Butterfly Pavilion hosts their annual Halloween celebration. Come on out and meet some real life creepy-crawlies, along with games, costumes and candy. This event is included with your membership fee.

Cottonwood Farms is one of our fall favorites. A hay bale maze for the little ones, corn maze for the braver, pumpkins galore, hay rides and more!
Anderson Farms in Erie puts on quite the fall event including Terror in the Corn haunted hayrode and ghost town after dark. For those not interested in the frightful possibilities, the maze is open during daylight hours and is very family friendly!
Rock Creek Farm, (Hwy 287 between Lafayette & Broomfield) also has a corn maze, pick your own pumpkins, and meet some farm animals.
The Wild Bear Mountain Mountain Ecology Center hosts the 12th annual Enchanted Forest this Saturday, October 13, 2012. Learn all about forest creatures and their habitats!
With the weather turning colder, you might be looking for more indoor activities for the kiddos. Boulder Public Library has something for everybody:
Story times for all ages: Bilingual (Spanish/English or French/English), Musical story times, something for all kids!
For the older kids, they host a Lego Club, Go Club and The Boulder Folders, an Origami Club

Grant Family Farms presents their annual Harvestival this weekend, October 6 and 7. Bring the whole family out for hay rides, beer garden, pumpkin patch, farmer’s market and more!
Saturday, October 6, 2012, Avid4 Adventure will provide FREE bike instruction at Valmont Bike Park in Boulder. The ride is part of a nationwide celebration known as Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day, supported by the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA).

Avid4 Adventure has partnered with the City of Boulder Parks and Recreation Department and the Boulder Mountain Bike Alliance to bring you this event.
It’s that time of year: pumpkin carving, corn mazes and hay rides. Cottonwood Farms is just East of Boulder on 75th & Arapahoe. They offer a day at their farm where you can pick your own pumpkin, check out the farm animals and buy local organic produce. Admission is free and they are open through October 31. 
Lafayette Quest is geared towards kids with the goal of encouraging healthy and fun activity! Teams of 2-4 will strategize their way through a traditional scavenger hunt by following clues, participating in healthy challenges, and utilizing smart phone technology. Teams will check in at activity/checkpoint stations and perform silly human tricks to receive clues to get them to the next station. QR codes hold the secret to extra points and additional clues. Prizes will be awarded to teams who finish first, accumulate the most points, and wear the best uniforms/costumes.
The Quest is this Saturday, September 22, 2012 from 9-11am starting and ending at the Bob L Burger Recreation Center. The registration fee is $20 per person with 100% of the proceeds going to youth scholarships at the rec center.

The City of Lafayette hosts their final 2012 Art Night Out of the season on May 21. Art Night Out runs from 4 to 9 pm on the third Friday of the month throughout the summer in Downtown Lafayette. Each Night Out features artists, an art walk, children’s activities (including a balloon twister, magician and face painters), the Oskar Blues Bonewagon food truck and a beer garden.
This week’s band is Girls on Top, which will play at Festival Plaza in Old Town Lafayatte from 7:30 to 9 pm.
