Ahhh.  We love farmer’s market season throughout the front range – fresh greens, herbs, cut flowers, kids running around and live music. Lafayette Farmer’s Market is one of the finest in the area.  They’ve moved to a new location this year with more vendors and more parking.

When: Thursdays through Oct 11, 2012. 3:30pm-dusk

Taste of Louisville and Half Marathon

Taste? Did somebody say taste? Louisville is hosting their annual marathon and food faire this Saturday, June 2, 2o12. Events of the day include half marathon, 5k and kids run in the morning. When you are done running, stroll down Main Street and taste some great food from local restaurants, listen to good music and hang out with your neighbors!

Louisville Farmers Market Swings into the Season

Louisville Farmers Market features Colorado grown organic and pesticide-free vegetables and fruits, organic European breads, honey, eggs, breakfast burritos, natural and organic beef, coffee, Colorado wines, pastries,  … and more!

The Boulder Creek Festival®, is the best spring event in Boulder, going on it’s 25th year.  The festival includes three days of the usual events, activities, food and entertainment, including the traditional rubber ducky race.

Microbreweries for the Environment

We couldn’t resist an extra blog post today as we noticed this fun event tomorrow, Friday, April 27, 2012, 8pm.  Microbreweries for the Environmentat the Boulder Theater.  Admission ($25.75) includes a commemorative pint glass. Pints are $2 but attendees can opt for a sampler glass for $12 for unlimited tastings.

This event has been around since 1993 and proceeds from this year’s event will benefit these local non-profit organizations: CU Environmental Center, Boulder Food RescueTiyospaye Winyan MakaThe Koru FoundationCommunikey, and Colorado Ocean Coalition.

Participating breweries:  Asher Brewing Company, Aspen Brewing Company, Avery Brewing Company, Boulder Beer Company, Breckenridge Brewery, Bristol Brewing Company, Crabtree Brewing Company, Dillon DAM Brewery, Fort Collins Brewery, Great Divide Brewing Company, Left Hand Brewing Company, New Belgium Brewing Co., New Planet Beer Company, Odell Brewing Company, Oskar Blues Brewery, Renegade Brewing Company, Shine Brewing Co, Ska Brewing, Twisted Pine Brewery, Upslope Brewing Company.

The evening’s entertainment features country-disco (Cris-Co), roots-rock, booty-shakin’ jam-tastic, folksy Americana music by Grant Farm, with very special guests Keith Moseley and Billy Nershi, and support acts The Mile Markers and The Drunken Hearts.

The benefit is a zero-waste and carbon-neutral event and they encourage people to walk, bike, or bus to the event.

Taste of Pearl

This year’s Taste of Pearl takes place on Sunday April 22nd, 2012 from 2-6pm. If you haven’t been, it’s  a wonderful afternoon exploring Boulder’s tantalizing culinary arts scene, celebrating Colorado’s distinctive tastes. A portion of the event’s proceeds will benefit Boulder’s Emergency Family Assistance Association (efaa).

The $60 ticket includes admittance to the event (wristband and wine tote) which allows participants to sample cuisine from 15 Boulder restaurants and taste wines from 15 Colorado wineries. Attendees will stroll at their leisure on a map guided tour of the stops.  This walking food/wine tour spans approximately six blocks along Pearl Street.
