The City of Boulder offers excellent programs for families! These programs are offered on a regular basis and help us all to learn more about the environment around us.

On the last day of the year get outside with your kids to learn more about the critters that live all around us. They get to be detectives as you look for signs of tracks and learn the stories of these animals. This tracking program is on December 31, 2014. Learn moreĀ HERE.

Everyone Can Try an Hour of Code – December 8-14

Code.org has started a movement to get all children to try an hour of coding each year – Hour of Code. This year Hour of Code is December 8-14, 2014. Their mission is simple – give every child exposure to computer coding. There are over 500 events in Colorado alone and many more tutorials available online at Code.org.

The Boulder Public Library offers tons of events and activities for families! One of those is their weekly Creekwalk Storytime. If you have young children [5 and under] then take an hour to walk along the creek and hear delightful stories. Start at the main library in the children’s area – 10:15 to 11:00am. Operamania! is a lively performance of opera scenes that introduces children of all ages to the world of opera. This classic appeared for two seasons on PBS and is now brought to Boulder by the Boulder Opera. History Buff? Learn About the Lives of Boulder’s Early African-American Residents at the Boulder History Museum

Learn why a mostly integrated community became increasingly segregated in the 1920s, especially in ā€˜The Little Rectangle,’ a part of the Goss-Grove neighborhood. Corson will also explain why this unique history of Boulder is at risk of being forgotten. Friday, May 2, 2014 from 12:00 to 1:15pm.
