Lafayette is hosting a backyard composting how-to this Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 5:30pm at the library.

Come learn how to start and maintain a highly efficient backyard compost system by learning what to feed your compost pile, appropriate bins and methods for our geographics, tips and troubleshooting, and much more. This workshop is taught by Melanie Burow, a Master Composter in Colorado.

It’s Corn Maze Time!

If you’re a fan of corn mazes, we have some aMAZing options for you!

Cottonwood Farms is one of our fall favorites.  A hay bale maze for the little ones, corn maze for the braver, pumpkins galore, hay rides and more!

Anderson Farms in Erie puts on quite the fall event including Terror in the Corn haunted hayrode and ghost town after dark.  For those not interested in the frightful possibilities, the maze is open during daylight hours and is very family friendly!

Rock Creek Farm, (Hwy 287 between Lafayette & Broomfield) also has a corn maze, pick your own pumpkins, and meet some farm animals.

It’s that time of year:  pumpkin carving, corn mazes and hay rides. Cottonwood Farms is just East of Boulder on 75th & Arapahoe.  They offer a day at their farm where you can pick your own pumpkin, check out the farm animals and buy local organic produce.  Admission is free and they are open through October 31.
