Young Artists at Work

Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art is  once again offering week-long workshops for kids all summer long. Their Young Artists at Work 2012 series begin June 4 and continue through August 3.

Options are available for half-day and full-day workshops: 9am–12pm and/or 1–4pm

Workshops are designed for either 5–8-year-olds or 9–12-year-olds.

Bolder Boulder is Back

If you haven’t watched a Bolder Boulder, you’re missing out on giant bananas, runaway brides, grass skirts and all sorts of other fashion statements sprinting by. The race is Monday, Memorial Day, May 28, 2012.

The first wave is at 7am with the fun runners/walkers mid-morning. The super elite runners start at 11am.  They are something to behold – it’s amazing how fast they go by.

The route map is in the link above, so find your spot, bring a coffee, a muffin and a lawn chair and enjoy the show!

Dinosaur Express!

Who doesn’t want to be greeted by multiple 12-foot-long Stegosaurus or meet a 45-foot-long sea monster, Tylosaurus?

Join the Colorado Railroad Museum and take a journey along the Colorado railroads that helped unearth many fossils as railroad tracks were laid. Construction crews often exposed these unusual and fascinating bones as they were digging and laying railroad ties.

Search of fossils and prizes, pan for gold, paint dinosaur tracks and enjoy other dino-related activities like dinosaur story time.

Dinosaur Express Train is in collaboration with the Morrison Natural History Museum, Dinosaur Ridge and Triebold Paleontology.
