B-Cycle Launches New Station

Boulder B-cycle has added a 16th station in the Boulder area.  Wow! The latest is at Wilderness Place right near Boulder Beer.  Celebrate this Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Boulder Beer.  Arrive between 4:30 and 7pm on a B-cycle for a special prize!

This weekend, July 21 & 22, 2012, is Boulder’s Open Arts Fest!  What does that mean?

From the Downtown Boulder website: “Local artists will be joined by artists from around the country (and the world!), providing demonstrations and showcasing their work. There will be exciting children’s art activities, a silent auction benefiting OpenArts Zeff Fund for Arts Education and Ed Links – and much, much more!”

Did you know The Dairy Center for the Arts has a film series?  They show everything from classics like Citizen Kane (July 15) to just-for-fun like Dr Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog (July 20) to the 2012 Academy Award nominee for Best Animated Feature, A Cat in Paris (July 21).

Wet Paint Sale

Known as the “Wet Paint Sale”, plein air artists from around the area are invited to come to Louisville on July 17, 18, or 19, to paint “Louisville, As I see It”, and then to sell their paintings at Community Park on July 19th starting at 6pm. Check the Louisville Art Association web site  for information on joining the painting or the party.

Pete Kartsounes brings his music to the masses starting at 7pm on the 19th.  Brought to you by the Louisville Art Association (LAA) and the Louisville Cultural Council (LCC).

Art Night Out in Lafayette!

The City of Lafayette continues their 2012 Art Night Out series. Art Night Out runs from 4 to 9 pm on the third Friday of the month throughout the summer in Downtown Lafayette.  Each Night Out features artists, an art walk, children’s activities (including a balloon twister, magician and face painters), the Oskar Blues Bonewagon food truck and a beer garden.

Bands will play at Festival Plaza in Old Town Lafayatte from 7:30 to 9 pm.  Here’s the lineup:

$1 Kids Movies!

Moviegoers of all ages can climb aboard the Summer Movie Express to enjoy a great selection of films. During the remainder of this 9-week festival, the Colony Square Stadium 12 movie theater in Louisville is offering G or PG rated movies for only a dollar on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at 10am.

More Summer Concerts!

Today’s summer concert update takes place in the cute little town of Niwot, CO, between Boulder and Longmont.

Niwot’s FREE Summer Concert Series Rock-N-Rails takes place on Thursday evenings at 5:30 with music starting at 6:45pm at the Whistle Stop Park (corner of 1st and Murray) 

Artisans and kid’s activities, as well as food and cold drinks are available. Come dance with your neighbors next to the tracks!

Monday evenings in Boulder brings the Summer Concert series with the Boulder Concert  Band. Concerts start at 7pm but come early with a picnic dinner and hang out with the neighbors at this free event.
