Niwot is a happening place to be! With new restaurants and a brewpub, you can definitely make it a destination for an afternoon or evening of fun. We recommend a First Friday Art Walk – take a stroll through Old Town Niwot and Cottonwood Square to see what’s new in the local shops and galleries. There will be live music and refreshments should we be in another hot spell this weekend!
The Boulder area abounds with free concerts all summer. Louisville has another that we haven’t reported on yet: The Louisville Downtown Street Faire! This fun family event takes place on Fridays from 5-10pm through August 17, 2012 in beautiful Downtown Louisville CO. Bring a picnic or try some local food and cold drinks. There will be activities for the kiddos and local crafts to check out.
Here’s the 2012 lineup, along with descriptions from LDBA. Music starts at 6:30:
Were you at the Faire for Tab’s show last summer? If you were, you know. If not, do not miss this—we’re talking a power trio experience extraordinaire. The Faire seems to bring out the best in all our Louisiana musicians. Or maybe it’s the other way round.
Join us for a very special evening with the Santana and Journey co-founder and his all-star band. This show will be all about the songs Gregg wrote and sang for the original Santana, including covering their masterwork, Abraxas.
It’s a Newgrass kind of thing. Join Louisville native Drew Emmitt of Leftover Salmon and Bill Nershi of String Cheese Incident for an only-at-the-Faire night of jaw-dropping musicianship and good jam-band vibes, man.
North Boulder is becoming the place to be for First Fridays in Boulder. The NoBo Art District has spearheaded the effort with a fun, relaxing evening of “art & artists, unique gift items, clothing, furniture, antiques, dining, music and more!” Join the fun this Friday, August 3, 2012!
July 7 brings the return of Boulder Outdoor Cinema. If you haven’t been, it’s a fun family event!
Arrive around 7, bands are rockin’ by 7:30 and movies start at dusk in the lot behind the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art.

Most homes for sale in Boulder tout the popular “Master Suite”. But will it really help the home sell faster if you add one? Think again. Here’s a list of 10 home improvement projects that might not be worth your while. Of course, if you really want that outdoor kitchen…
Downtown Boulder’s infamous Bands on the Bricks continues the 2012 season with an awesome lineup in August:
August 1 That Eighties Band
August 8 Chris Daniels & The Kings
August 15 The Nacho Men
Have you been to Noon Tunes? It’s a series of lunchtime concerts (noon-1:30pm on Fridays) in front of the courthouse on the Pearl St Mall. It’s free, just bring your lunch and enthusiasm for great music!
Here are the remaining shows:
July 27 Rocky Mountain Puppets

Have you ever wanted to be in a flash mob? Here’s your chance! Come celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Pearl St Mall at 6:50pm on August 1, 2012, right before Bands on the Bricks with a rendition of I’m Your
Boogie Man by KC and the Sunshine Band.
Don’t be shy – there are even rehearsals! Members of Frequent Flyers will lead with some of their spectacular moves.
