Join hundreds of community members as they celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during the City of Lafayette’s 8th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. March for Peace and Celebration on Monday, January 21, 2013. The event will commence with a March for Peace at the northwest corner of W. Waneka Parkway and Public Road at 12:00 p.m. (The first 200 community members to arrive will receive a free event t-shirt!) Starting at 12:30 the event moves to Escuela Bilingue Pioneer (101 E. Baseline) for an afternoon celebration, free refreshments, live entertainment, poetry, and a keynote by local Hip-Hop artist and educator Molina Noon to 3pm More information on this event can be found here.
