Boulder Ranked #3 Top City Nationwide for Millennial Entrepreneurs

Boulder is ranked as the No. 3 top city in the U.S. for millennial entrepreneurs according to a new survey that asked 3,726 young people about small-business friendliness. The study, conducted by Thumbtack, a website that connects consumers to service professionals and small businesses, looks at connecting

The survey asked respondents about startup friendliness based on a number of factors, such as: Friendliness of local tax laws, licensing rules, regulatory environment, networking opportunities, & training opportunities.

Boulder Conversations with Extraordinary People Presents an Evening with Catherine Long Gates

Pacesetter Catherine GatesCatherine Long Gates is the third generation manager of Long’s Gardens, a horticultural business founded in Boulder in 1905.  A Boulder native, she grew up on the family farm located just one mile from the heart of the city.  Operating a farm in the city has provided lots of opportunities for “career development” from field laborer, retail clerk, and general handywoman to iris judge, water negotiator, and urban agriculture watchdog. Complimentary wine and cheese will be served.
