Birds of Prey Driving Tour

raptorimageJoin Boulder County volunteer naturalists on February 9, 2013 for a driving tour of some of Boulder County’s best areas to view birds of prey, or raptors. In this driving tour you will learn about habitat and behavior of raptors as well as work on your observation and identification skills. Bring water, lunch or a snack, binoculars, spotting scopes, and a bird field guide if you have them. Take A Tour of the Visitor’s Center at the National Center for Atmospheric Research [NCAR]

ncarBoulder’s National Center for Atmospheric Research’s visitor center is open for guided and self-guided tours 363 days of the year. This iconic building sits atop a mesa overlooking Boulder. The site is beautiful and offers easy hiking options and the visitor’s center offers visitors interactive learning opportunities. NCAR is open for visitors on weekdays 8:00am to 4:00pm and on weekends 9:00am to 5:00pm. Guided tours are offered M/W/F 12:00 to 1:00pm, but if you would rather a self-guided tour you can take an cell phone MP3 tour anytime. Kids and adults alike enjoy this site! Louisville’s Royal Ball Father/Daughter Valentine’s Day Dance is just around the corner

The event includes a tiara for each young lady, dancing to a live DJ, crafts, light refreshments and many smiles. Formal to semi-formal attire encouraged. Cost: $10/person. Must register here.
