Parting is such sweet sorrow. Christmas trees are in our homes for such a short time but can be a large part of holiday memories. Do the city a favor and recycle/compost your tree so it can live on in mulch for someone’s garden. Here’s the scoop of how to do it:
City of Boulder/Boulder County Dec. 23 – Jan. 31:
Holiday trees may be taken to the City of Boulder/Boulder County Yard Waste Drop-off special holiday tree collection located at Western Disposal at 5880 Butte Mill Rd. Open to all Boulder County residents and free of charge. The holiday tree recycling drop-off is open 24 hours. NOTE: FOR THOSE WITH CURBSIDE COMPOST SERVICE, Western Disposal will pick up and compost trees that are put by your compost bin at the curb on your compost pick-up day. If you don’t have composting service or if you put out your tree on the recycling or trash day, it will go to the landfill.
Available to Lafayette residents at the City Service Center – 1700 Avalon Avenue. Dates and times vary from Dec 26-Feb 1 so check the website before heading over.
